Job Description Job Description Summary o Coordinates events and trainings of cooks, and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient and profitable food service o Supervises activities of food preparation, kitchen, pantry, and storeroom.
o Working Food & Beverage Manager that coordinates food service activities of Keene Caf and Villa la Paz Conference & Events by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff.
This position is located in Keene, CA, 30 miles east of Bakersfield.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
o Oversees food and beverage costs and requisitions or purchases supplies.
o Plans or/and participates in planning menus, preparing and apportioning food.
o Works with food preparation and other personnel to plan menus and related activities such as dining room, bar, and banquet and Keene Caf operations.
o Supervises waitress staff and event staff cleanliness of kitchen and equipment that meet health department standards.
o Supervises cook to ensure conformance with recipes and presentation standards.
o Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
o Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.
o Monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.
o Analyzes recipes, determines food, labor, and overhead costs, and assigns process of menu items.
o Purchase food, kitchen supplies, and equipment, or requisitions them from vendor.
o Completes inventory every 2 weeks, storage, and distribution of food and supplies.
o Directs food apportionment policy control costs.
o Sets prices to be charged for food items with management o Meets with staff, and or clients to resolve menu inconsistencies or to plan menus for special occasions.
o Supervises cooking and other kitchen personnel and coordinates their assignments to ensure economical and timely food production.
o Responsible of food preparation and cooking, portion control, and garnishing of foods to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning staff duties, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
